Protecting your loved ones and everything you’ve built.
Now and forever.
Meet Katrina M. Register, Esq.
Mom. Advocate. Lawyer. Protector of Families.
Hi, I’m Katrina M. Register—a mom of two, a proud South Jersey native, and a fierce advocate for families, especially those with young children. I’ve spent many years in the courtroom fighting for injury victims. While I continue to advocate for those who’ve been harmed, I’ve expanded my practice to protect children in a different way—through thoughtful estate planning services that ensure they’re cared for and protected, no matter what.
I’ve always been driven. I was the first in my family to go to college and the first to become a lawyer. I met my husband Brandon in college, and he’ll be the first to tell you—my career came first. I poured everything into becoming an attorney, eventually joining John Trimble in private practice over 16 years ago. I love the law. I love advocating. And I especially love protecting people who can’t always protect themselves.
But everything changed when I became a mom. In 2019, we welcomed our son Blake, and in 2020, our daughter Bailey Kae surprised us during what turned out to be one of the wildest years of our lives—a pandemic, two babies, and I became partner in our firm. It was also the year I sat down for the first time and completed my own estate planning documents. Not just for me, but for my family.
Because here’s the truth most people don’t want to think about:
What happens to your kids if you don’t make it home?
If you’re in a car accident, who makes medical decisions for your kids?
If your babysitter calls 911 and you can’t be reached, do you know what happens next?
Unless you’ve taken the proper legal steps, the answer may be that your kids end up with child protective services. A judge—who doesn’t know you or your wishes—will decide who steps in. And they’ll choose the person who looks best on paper, not the one who knows your child best or loves them like you do.
That’s why I created a Parent’s Peace of Mind Packet—a better, more thoughtful approach to estate planning for families with minor children. This includes not just a Will, but legally naming short-term and long-term guardians, and giving clear instructions to your caregivers, family, and decision-makers.
This isn’t just paperwork. It’s a lifeline for your children in case the unthinkable happens.
If there’s anyone in your life you’d never want raising your kids or making medical decisions on their behalf—maybe an ex, a toxic in-law, or even someone close to you who just doesn’t share your values—you need to make that known now, in writing, with legal authority behind it.
My estate planning practice is built around this mission: To give parents the peace of mind they deserve to ensure their children are always protected—no matter what.
Let’s talk about what you want for your family, and how we can put a plan in place that truly protects them.

Estate Planning for Every Stage of Life
Protect Your Family. Preserve Your Legacy. Stay in Control.
Estate planning is not just for the wealthy, the elderly, or parents of young children. It’s for anyone who wants to make life easier for the people they love, avoid unnecessary court involvement, and have a say in what happens to their assets, their health care, and their legacy.
Whether you’re just starting out, building your family, planning for retirement, or navigating life after loss—having a clear, legally sound estate plan is one of the most important gifts you can give to your loved ones.
What Happens If You Don’t Have a Plan?
Without a plan, the state decides:
- Who receives your assets
- Who manages your estate
- Who makes your medical decisions
- Who takes care of your dependents
- When and how your assets are distributed
That often leads to confusion, conflict, delays, and unnecessary expenses. Worst of all, it can leave your loved ones in limbo during a time of grief.
What’s Included in a Thoughtful Estate Plan?
Every estate plan is customized, but here are the key documents most people need:
- Last Will and Testament – Names guardians for minor children and outlines how your assets should be distributed.
- Revocable Living Trust – Helps avoid probate, keeps your wishes private, and allows for ongoing management of your assets.
- Powers of Attorney – Allows someone you trust to manage your finances if you’re unable to.
- Healthcare Directives– Gives your loved ones clear guidance on medical decisions and end-of-life care.
- Beneficiary Designations – Ensures that your life insurance, retirement accounts, and other non-probate assets go exactly where you want them to.
Life Changes—So Should Your Plan
We build estate plans that grow with you. Your plan should be reviewed and updated after major life events like:
- Marriage or divorce
- Birth or adoption of a child
- Buying or selling a home
- Starting or growing a business
- Retirement or major financial changes
- Loss of a loved one
At Trimble & Register, we don’t just hand you a stack of documents and send you on your way. We believe in building lifelong relationships with our clients, offering guidance and updates as your life and goals evolve.
You Deserve Peace of Mind
Estate planning isn’t about fear—it’s about confidence. Knowing that your wishes will be followed. Knowing that the people you love will be supported. Knowing that you’re in control.
Let’s create a plan that reflects your values, protects your family, and preserves your legacy.
